About Top AI Apps and how we rank tools

Top AI Apps is an independent directory of AI apps. We list tools that genuinely do something useful with AI, for individuals, creators and teams, and we say plainly where each one falls short.

How the ranking works

Each tool gets an editor score from 0 to 10. It weighs four things: quality of the AI output, value for money, how quickly a new user gets a good result, and how the free plan or trial compares with rivals. Reader upvotes and click-throughs adjust the order within a category over time, so popular tools rise. Sponsored placements are always labelled.

Where tools come from

Makers submit their products, our editors add apps we use, and an automatic scout watches Hacker News “Show HN” launches, Product Hunt and trending GitHub projects for AI releases. Everything is reviewed by a person before it appears.

How we make money
